To Ludwigshafen-based artist Veit Schmidleitner, material is more than medium—it is a subject in itself. In his studio Quantum Oddity, founded in 2013, Schmidleitner explores the tension between industrial elements such as lacquer and metal, creating abstract works that oscillate between chaos and control. His experimental approach earned him the London Contemporary Art Prize in 2018.
We designed the catalog Question Everything to reflect this spirit of inquiry. The publication offers an in-depth look at Schmidleitner’s artistic process, featuring both his finished pieces and behind-the-scenes photographic portraits of the artist and his working environment.
